Hi,

I came across this Gorget recently. I had never seen one before but found it in a Gorget book. Did I ID this correctly? What do you think about originality? If it is original, what would a fair market value be?

An original Army example with the chain still attached in nice condition will run you about $4,500 these days.

Not what I collect, but see previous WAF threads like ...
t=360876 and t=24457, info includes the following...
"...two different makers of the Army Standart Bearers Gorget.
H.Aurich from Dresden and C.E.Juncker from Berlin. There is
only a minor difference between them in design. They both
have the same grey color of the chain, buttons and eagle.
The silver background has a different shade.[info by] Pieter."
