      Hello Rhidian:
      Some fakes will also have upper wing curves as
      noted in WAF thread t=94090, but they will be
      over gouged looking, likewise other repros cast
      from "real" examples will have slight wing curves
      - subtle detail not picked up by the casting media.
      As such IMO an evaluation should be the sum of all
      the of the pole top parts - 1st patterns can be tricky.

        Thanks OFW for the explination, some of the copies of these are so good its always put me off from buying one.

          If you look at OFW's example, on the original, you can see small "indentations" as wing edge moves upward to the top. The fake is a consistent tapering to the top of the wing. Those details are similarly lost on railroad eagle castings too.
