        Railroad Eagle

        Hello All,
I owned a few of these years ago, and I regretted selling them. What are the opinions on this. It is 27 inches from wing tip to wing tip. It is maker rmarked. And has all the nuts attached to the screws.
I really need help on this.

Jack, it looks to me you have an original HE 27' RR eagle. Hard to find an original since most ones with HE maker mark are repros.

Too bad someone cleaned almost off the original paint off the bird. You can see the black traces of paint. Also looks like it had a red painted background of the swas. Back a few years ago most thought that was GI Post-war embellishments, now we find the Germans did at times 'colored em up'.

I think it's good but I'm no expert on these.
Perhaps Ken, JR or VID can pipe in here.

                    Different Eagle

This is I thought should go in a different category, but I have no responses.
It is 16.875 inches from wing tip to wing tip, and 10.250 tall. Does any one know what it is ?
                    Thanks Jack

The HE RR Eagle is one of the most copied birds post war. A dealer out of Canada use to sell quite a few of the repops on his site. I have also seen one that came out of England that had nearly the correct fastening studs cast on the reverse, lending to a more credible repo example. The post war piece is much rougher in texture than the original that you see here, and is 1/2 inch shorter in length, measuring 26 1/2 instead of 27"

2 photos that I had on file of an HE repo. The 1 showing the course metal on the reverse that has the maker's mark. And the 2nd that shows an actual cast stud on an HE repo eagle.
