See"wmtf" pinned flag forum thread for lots of noted
fake examples. Why? For the $, £, €, ¥, etc. In this case
design is really simple, thus easy to fake. Not saying this
one is bad, this would require more close up photos, etc.

Likewise, a burn test of loose threads for hard microball results
vs. just ash powder, would tell you if any synthetic was used.
