    German made ???

IMO a nice c.WW2 German FS, based on material,
eagle details (nice feet and heads), and the same kind
of snap hooks used on my DE standard and SS Lager.
Likely, a land use version since no header with KM mark.

The moths just love the coarse material on these wool version Führer Standarte...I can not recall the last one I have seen without the damage...a rare piece at any rate...I would love to get a mint wool example or a bullion version (yes I know I will never get a bullion example but I can dream)

My dream is the auto flag size. They are easier to display.

Tell me about it. 6' x 6' is one of my smaller flags. I guess I'm attracted to the larger sizes because it better conveys the over-powering oppressiveness that I associate with Nazism. Funny thing about that line of thought is that I enjoy large U. S. flags for the exact opposite reason; impressive and majestic. I guess it's all based on view.

I like flags, but they are hard to display so I can see what Bob is talking about with regards to a small size, and then again much of the german flag/banner industry used wool as a material in construction so you have the issue with insect damage...I believe there are some battle flags made in an occupied state that are done in cotton...those you can display without fear of damage save from sunlight....pity that these artifacts can not be enjoyed.

Here is a minty example, of a smaller sized fuhrer flag. Maker label and size stamps.

Nothing new to report with the Standarte that started this thread; still too big to display properly! I do plan to take some shots of it flying this summer when I get some time (and privacy!).

What does one have to do to post an image on this forum thread?

Ps: I know how to do it, but the site won't let me?
