    Maybe.....

It might be good but wait until Oldflagswanted sees this and replies to it.
It's a pretty cool looking flag.
It might be something I would like to have in my collection one day.
Hey Oldflagswanted.... what is the price for an authentice one like this?????
And what was it used for??????????

        Hello:
The III/43 SS flag is 100% the "real" thing, a correct first pattern fringe
example with static swastika (units below rgt. #~55) and with thick
corner patch edge cording and chain stitched metalic silver lettering.
Flag is currently for sale online for ~$13K, which is cheep IMO as there
are fewer SS battalion flags in existance than Army or Luftwaffa at $20K+.

          13 G's HMMM....

OK then...maybe I won't be getting a flag like this.
Just a bit over my budget.
I don't really care if it's a SS item I just like the flag.
That's why I'll never collect SS items. way to much money. Slap an SS
on something and up goes the price.
Is there a flag smilar that is more common and less money?
Maybe SA or regular Heer one?

There are only a dozen or so SS unit flags known (by me) to have survived
WW2, as such realized price data on same is scarce too. Many thousands of
SA unit flags are around, and vary in price from $500 to ~$1.5K depending
on condition, number of corner patches, and the seller and the venue. As for
a "regular Heer" battalion flag, one recently sold on e-stand for ~18K Euros.

IMO III/43 is the only flag surviving from SS-Standarte Frankenstein.

                      Sebastian:
I've had four in my own collection, all obtained in the 1970's for $1000
each. I believe three other "real" examples have been posted more
recently on the WAF, from SS foot and TK units . There is one shown in
the Walker flag book, and in another book another signals with visor hat
reinactor standardbearer holding it. A local friend has another first pattern,
and I have confirmed existance photos of around six others that have
survived WW2, which includes two VT. That makes from memory a total of
around 16 "real" flags. Two fakes have also been posted on the WAF too.

                          O-S:
You will have to go back thru the WAF SS flag posts to get the
exact unit numbers, Anderson (this forum mod) has a nice 1st
pattern 1/17, Hritz the cool TK with skull, another TK SS-SBF
was posted then deleted. III/43 patch is 100% correct, see the
previously WAF posted fakes III/1 & I/SS2 for what bad looks like.
