unknown pennant - hj ? rare?

Certianly not "common"....probably BDM (Girls)but I'm not really an expert on these...Nice unit Identification and semi-runic design.....don't know exact value but certianly more than what a truely common HJ pennant would be worth....I'd guess in the $250.00/$300.00 vacinity. Of course, this is assuming it's legit, passes the Blacklite test, and get's the thumbs up from the experts here.

I agree with Mainemilitaria that this looks like to be a girls' Wimpel and more specifically a Jungmädelschar-Wimpel. The main stitched location seems at odds with those seam numbers though.

Häfertal is a district of Mannheim so the Schar location matches but the numbering on the seam seems to be suggesting something completely different. 37/627 would correspond to JM-Gruppe 37 of JM-Untergau 627 (Mährisch Schönberg) but this JM-Untergau was located within Gebiet 35 Sudetenland and not Gebiet 21 Baden (parent Gebiet for Bann 171 Mannheim).

I've seen other Wimpel and flags with seam numbers like yours whose location matched the main detail so yours is an odd one odd in that regard.

You'll need to have a good look at the construction/stitching etc but assuming it's a good one I would put a value of around 400Euros on it. Wimpel named to a unit are obviously more desirable than the simple versions.

Hi to all,

I am writing a book on Mannheim and the HJ BDm ect. Schar 37 is Kaefertal Bann 171, so the number is correct.
This Wimpel would be a great asset for my Museum in Mannheim about its History thru WW2. PM send.

As I can see you are looking for items related with Manheim. I have in my collection a BDM Mädelgruppenwimpel RZM patern 100% standard, RZM tab including. Numbers 81-171 for Manheim are chain-stitched.
