SS Prinz Eugen Flag and Party Banner

    Greetings Gents,

I paid a call on a gentleman today who told me he had inherited some old German flags that he wanted to get rid of. Let me show you what I walked away with. You be the judge. If you want more detailed pictures of the SS flag, I suggest you have a look at this thread in the SS Forum as there are many more pics there:

7th SS Mountain Division Trumpet Banner ???

One concern I have is that I've never seen a SS trumpet
banner done at division level, and especially so based on
the history of the Prinz Eugen 7th SS Mountain Division,
formed on March 1942 from ethnic Germans volunteers
from Croatia, Serbia, and Romania, which then fought
against Tito's partisans in Yugoslavia, and, later Russian
troops in some of the harshest terrain imaginable - i.e.,
not in the time or places conducive to band reviews using
trumpets. Most trumpet banners I've seen are regimental
level at best, and made prior to WW2. Likewise, based on
a closer look at the fringe (shown on another posting), IMO
(revised) this one is indeed suspected to be post WW2 made.
          .....

            7th SS Emblem ???

            PS/
... also this trumpet banner runic emblem may not even
be that of the 1942 wartime 7th SS Division, as below...

Darré strongly influenced SS-Reichsführer Himmler about
a German racial aristocracy based on selective breeding.
