    Pole Top Identification

Does anyone know what kind of flag would have been used with this pole top? It is made from a heavier material, seems to be nickle plated, and has a set up for a standard of some type that uses side cords. I would appreciate any opinions - everything it came with was very pre-1939.

Thanks Dr Dolch, it is a neat piece but I'd love to know what it goes to. With the side hooks, it looks to be set up to stabilize an upright flag, when carried vertically on a pole. Has anyone seen such an eagle in any period pictures? s/f Robert

It also reminds me of some type of schellenbaum. The eagle's beak was obviously also meant to hold something.

No, it was brought back from Germany by a US veteran - s/f Robert

I'm going to move this to estand, but have no idea what to ask for it. It is definately not a standard Schellenbaum, but it's original and used for a similiar purpose. Any suggestions as to a fair asking price for out forum bros? s/f Robert
