The tear drop spear point Italian flag pole tops with Royal
Crown above the House of Savoy arms are called the
model-1860 pattern, which was superceeded by the model-1938
eagle pattern - see below. Many examples of the model-1860
top were made and sold within the USA in the years prior to WW2
by commercial US flag firms, for use by domestic Italian fraternal
organizations, making identification of made in Italy tops difficult.
From the official Itallian Army pole top drawing provided below note
that the wreath extends into the tear drop edge - this being a
critical detail in sorting out Italy vs. US made m-1860 tops. Likewise,
true Italian Army pole tops have a unique pole adaptor base which
is seldom if ever seen on those tops available on the collecting market.
I've been looking for myself a m-1938 for many years, and have only
ever found one example, but the collector who has it won't sell it.

Hi Pete,

Oldflags wrote is right, your flag pole top is original used from
the veteran association before the Fascist era and in the ww2
1945 cheers

unfortunately my friend Mr.Brisone is died in May of this year; we have lost a
great collector all the study about the italian flag was your.

I have pleasure to help I do not have many flags of the PNF or Militia (much rare)
only some of rare of the PNF in Spain Madrid (Fasci all estero) all the one which I

Yes, that is the photo of interest, but what I am seeking
is a close up photo of the GIL Roman Eagle Standard tassels
(or gong things - whatever they are called) which hang down from
cross bar below the banner. See right side in photo posted below.
Also I would love to see your PNF-FAE banners, either posted on
here or maybe by direct email. My own Madrid fascist standard is
shown below center - looking for a period trooping photo of it too.
