being rather uneducated in SS stuff.......and hearing that the vast vast majority is fake.......i would probably fake as well.......appears to be in excellent condition for being 60+ years old.......no age or wear?..........grommets look pretty cheesy..........yellow color still bright?

I have read somewhere that all flags with brass grommets are post-war.
Do some research though friend,as you never know.

        <CENTER>Hello expara:
As a nearly 40 year collector of military flags, I am not a fan
of zig-zag sewing machine made SS banners, especially those
with grommets - no doubt some period made examples were
done that way, but many fakes are like that too. That is why
I like just the flag pole flown types, or even better the soldier

Without More Detailed Images, No Educated Opinion Is Possible.
The Material Does Not Appear To Be The Type Used On Period S S Flags. To Say Most S S Material Is Fake And Make A Judgement Based On That Theory Make No Sense. The Issue Of Non Period Brass Grommets Is Nonsense. Brass Became A Product Rationed For The War Effort. This Would Not Pertain To Items Produced Prewar Or Early In The War Period. It Is Amazing How Many Of These "legends" Are Blindly Accepted As Fact Without Any Backup Documentation. I Agree With Old Flags That Zigzag Stitching Is Not Often Found On Period Flags.
