Dick Deeter was a dear friend of mine. He visited me, back in the mid 1960s to see my collection and I ended up buying his volunteer insignia collection, a year later. I saw Warren Odegard, aabout 13 years ago, and he was still collecting. They were pioneers in the hobby and both men of character and quality.

There were criteria for when a name was granted to an SA-Standarte, as well as for the SA-Sturmfahne. Standarte-members were authorized for a cuffband; the name appeared upon the box for the standard. About all of these - quite many - I wrote lots of posts in a thread at the WorldWarMilitaria-forum. The forum is still alive so you eventually could have a look there (I thought it is to be found with the name cuffband).

So there were some criteria for when a name was granted for an SA-Sturmfahne. I thought there were over 350 different names. In some occasions a flag could have more then one name.

I once intended to write a book about all of the honor-names for the SA and NSKK. I thought it to be in about 1995. It all was in the hands of a German publisher, but he did not fullfill what was agreed and so I did not allow him to publish and release the book. Now I do not have this intention anymore, as I should re-write it completely and for that I do not have the time.
Most also has been covered in the book from Ulric of England "Deutschland erwache", but this is more related to the names for the SA-Standarte and not to the SA-Sturmfahne. In my book I also planned to give information about the flags development.

Heine was officially granted October 1, 1933 for the SA-Group of Niederrhein, Sturm 22/138 (Duisburg). But that is a known fact.
