    Nazi Germany / Italy paperflags

I have recently come across these two paper flags which appears to be dated 1938. On one side is the swastica printed and on the other the italian flag. Size is 20 cm x 10,5 cm. They also have a wooden sticks as for holding. Unfortunately they are brooken to match the size of the flag.

Any one seen this kind of flag before and in what purpose might it have served? As a welcome for high german leaders visiting Il Duches Italy?

        You are right!

        Hello there Felix
The flags are a free gadget (in omaggio, you can read it on it) that UPIM gave to his customers.
Upim was - and still is - here in Italy a kind (but much smaller) of Carrefour or Kmart or Harrod's and so on.
They gave this gadget in may 1938 when Adolf came to visit Benito for 5 days to celebarete the Axis.
You can understand this because you can read that the permission to made these flags was given in march 1938. Just less than a couple of months before.
And considering that all the Country worked a lot waiting for Hitler's to come visiting.
Roma, Napoli e Firenze were totally "new dressed".
        Hope this helps you
        Ciao

Nice flag. The Swaztika in the German one looks thicker than on other flags and banners.

Yes, since probably the flag makers were not given construction sheets to make the Swastika perfectly. But I agree that this is a give-away flag to those waiting in the streets for the Hitler visit. Usually, in most give-aways, both the flag of the visitor and the host are given to the citizens to wave to show friendship.
