Hi Everyone,
I would be most grateful for some opinions on this pole top.
Since receiving it, I just can't feel comfortable with it. I haven't had an NSRL pole top so can't compare: however, to me, it just looks to be lacking in quality.
My specific area of concern is the eagle which looks to be cast, i.e. quite obvious pitting, and lacks the detail I would have liked to have seen, e.g. the talons are not well defined. Also, the detailing to the eagle's wings, or lack thereof.
Another point is the cup which again shows pitting.
Finally, it leaves a rather unsettling smell on the hands, after you've handled it. A bitter, chemical smell. This accompanied by traces of a green residue around where the cup joins the eagle, make me wonder if somebody has tried to age it.
I could of course be entirely mistaken!
Anyway, I would be very grateful for any and all opinions on this.
Thanks for looking.
All the best,
Toby.
