        Hi Birdie,

        <O</O
<OThis is an unissued Kriegsmarine Bow Flag (1935 Pattern), in size No 3, for small vessels under 500 ton. The G on the flag stands for “Gösch", FL for Flagge.

        <O</O
The Bow Flag was flown only on war vessels (those under the Reich War Flag) when moored and is in the form of the national flag with red background, white disc and black swastika. This pattern bow flag was instituted by order of 5th October 1935 and differs from the national flag in that the white disc is positioned slightly off centre towards the hoist.

Nice flag probably obtained direct from the factory, if issued would have had the eagle/M acceptance stamp on it</O

          hello birdie and rhudspith.
this is interesting, a 1935 pattern flag made in helmond holland ?
did the germans give orders to forgein factory,s to make km flags,or is the material imported to germany before or in the war.holland have 2 helmonds, they all are near eindhoven.
nice flag with rare factory stamps.
          cheers

            1935 Pattern

            Silven,

What I maent by this was that this style / pattern of flag was instituted in 1935, not necessarily manufactured in 1935.
            Regards, Rob

i understead that, but this is something new to add on my list,my reply was not meant to say that this type of flags only where made in 1935,but that a helmond factory made this types of flags and if that was before the war or in the war .
              but thanks for your input.
              cheers silven
