    German Navy "KILL" pennant?

We picked up what was purported to be a German Naval "Kill" pennant.
Does anyone have any reference or photos of these? Were they actually "officuially" used?

The Construction seems right, it is about 18" long, has a lanyard.

My apologies for the quick doodle of it.

    Thanks for any info!

The Kriegsmarine by Angolia and Schlicht vol 3 pg 371 Pennant for downing of
enemy aircraft. By, a Navel anti-aircraft battery or by light anti-aircraft weapons
award was extended to boats on Harbour Protection Flotillias. A document was
also given to the unit commander. Photos in book show a rounded tip, not pointed. Regards, Ed. ..

The film "Idiocracy" was originally released as a comedy. Now it has been re-released as a documentary.

      Hi Jerry,

Ed is spot on with his description of the flags. Period photos do exist of these being flown. Here are my two examples. Both being "liberated" by a Royal Canadian Artillery veteran friend of mine in Holland. You will see that these have pointed ends as opposed to the rounded end shown in the Angolia and Niemann books.

      Cheers,
      Greg

The hoist end. I should also have noted that both of my examples measure approximately 24" in total length.

Hope that was of some assistance to you.

          Cheers,
