[quote=Gregory Koepp]well if i read right you asked if it was good? and what others thought, so i gave you what i know about them due to owning afew of them (real) and also having the book JR wrote and have read it and would still not own this eagle you are showing. even though that type is not in his book.
The problem is the above post, because the gentlemen clearly states the book has served him no information. And he refers to his own experience as " A few" He makes a judgement on the book that he decries as basically useless.
So his experience is above the book, and he does not need it to make an opinion. But he owns the book, and then reaches for it before he makes his opinion, and then attacks the book although he took the time to purchase it. And then? he uses it for reference? and when he is done? he says the book sucks?.
The gentlemen refrenced the god damned book to make his opinion, he clearly stated so, and then he made his opinion, and he stated it as fact, and when he was done?. He shot up the same reference that he used to make his opinion in the first place as useless and expensive.
That is bull****, and if you read the entire post, you will find it is exactly as I am calling it.
So if you come into a thread, and you buy a reference, and you utilize to make an opinion, full knowing it contains more than pictures and neglect to read it, than you are nothing but a schmuck!.
If the reference is bad, and your experience is beyond the book, then? If you want to make a flat out call of fake? which he did!. The burden of proof is on you, and an attack on an author is totally uncalled for and baseless.
Another know it all hypocrite and egotist with nothing better to do than stir up crap he knows abosolutley nothing about, or he would back up his own god damned statements.
And what is this black eye? what is your expertise on these items?. Please humor me, as I have been looking at them for many years, and there are some I cant call. Why dont you enlighten me with your knowledge and teach me something I do not know?.
Otherwise? you should shut your mouth and try not to antoagonize a thread that I can guarantee will blow up in your face.
Put up or shut up. And you best know what your talking about, or your emoticons will do you no good at all.

Hi All!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o> I have not read this entire topic word for word. There are too many not so friendly non-educational innuendos. However, I would like to make a couple of things clear on my last post. #1. I honestly do not know if this eagle is original or not, I would have to see it in hand. #2. I think many people are questioning the type of lug found on the reverse. This type was absolutely used on these eagles although they were designed to be attached to buildings, not trains. I have vet purchased originals and there is no question to it. Best Wishes,<o></o> Bob

Jim,
Then I misread your intent, but the emoticons mixed with the quote of JR's gave me the impression he was getting smacked around for what I think is a nice reference that is certain to save some folks some money.
I apologize for being rude, I misunderstood. And I agree he should not have been sucked in.
