    My first genuine Reichskriegsflagge- Massive!

I just got this today, and I am so happy with it. It is quite salty, which is one thing I love about it. It is a navy marked Reichskriegsflagge which measures about 9 feet by 5 feet. I will have to measure the exact dimensions in a little while.
My question is this- Would this have flown on a battleship? You can tell it has been water-logged many times in the past judging by the slight staining and the grey color the cotton has turned. Also, there is a canteen suspension hook added to the center of the end of the flag- something I think would have been by the ship crew.
    Any help appreciated!
    Later,
    Karl
P.S.-How should I go about displaying it?

Here is a scan of the markings (what units were used for size?)

And last for now, a close-up scan of the cotton weave, plus a period repair.

                <center>Karl:
                Size used on a Nazi Battleship was 4.5 x 7.50 meters, with your 2 x 3.35
meter RKF being the size for a ship of less tonage than a battleship. As for

Thanks for the info! Would that mean this could be from a Schnellboot?
                  Later!

                    <center>Karl:
Small craft like E-boats and U-boats used the smaller size RKF's:
50x85cm (0.50x0.85meters) and sometimes the next size up,
80x135cm (0.80x1.35meters). Your flag is three sizes larger so
the ship it would be flown on would be somewhat larger. I
would have to find my tonage to RKF size chart (listed in the
c.WW2 German "Flagenbuch") to quote you the exact ship class
authorized to fly your size flag, and then you will have to look
up the tonage of WW2 German ships in an old copy of Janes.

                      Thanks again for the help!
Would it be more the size for a Kreuzer?

My 3 X 5 meter flag shown below comes off a destroyer.

This a multi piece constructed flag. Not printed.

I rarely see that size of flag! I'd like to have one that big.

If possible, do you have an idea on the name of the Destroyer from which it came from?

                            I used my 3 X 5 m flag as a background of an exhibition: http://users.skynet.be/vonweyersberg/Exhibition.htm
