Nazi era trumpet banners

This is sort of a follow up to the previous thread regarding reproductions. I wondered what the general thought was out there regarding fake trumpet banners (Nazi era.) Oldflagswanted, what can you tell me based on your experience of collecting as to how common repro. trumpet banners are out there? Many seem so elaborate that I would find it hard to believe lots of them are faked. On the other hand, some of the prices are so high perhaps that warrants fakes.... Mike

Like with flags the devil is always in the details - same other thread
posted photo somewhat applies to the origin of parts used on bugle
banners. I don't collect bugle banners for a number of reasons, one
being that many are fakes. I have several nice originals in my collection,
but I am holding onto them mostly because they were just given to me.

Please don't take this wrong, but I have never undestood why
anyone would want anything fake in their collection - I've heard
many reasons given from the fake being "a place holder until
the real thing is found", and such, but in my opinion a fake just
detracts from having a good collection. I guess some just don't
care about having just "real" stuff? To each his own. Pakistan
seems to do well producing such junk!</center>

I was being facetious! I would never knowingly spend a dime on anything I knew was not real. I was sort of going along with the feel of that part of the thread at the time. I have never understood the idea of buying a fake to fill a spot and could never really accept that kind of thought in collecting flags. Alot of guys do it I know when collecting medals like the PLM, RK, etc. Thanks again for your feedback. I sent you a PM.....Mike
