    Early SS pennant.

    Hello.
    New addition.
SS pennant with chain stitched SS runes early pattern.
Similaire runes have used for the sports shirt.
    Dimension 240 x 150 cm.
I have found similaire at Home | Original German Militaria.

    https://www.originalgermanmilitaria....-rare-pattern/

Is probably made from early begins before RZM.
Please,I am looking for information on the use of this pennant.
Thanks, as allways every opinion and comment is welcome.
    Jannis.

        Has a partial chain stiching.

The runes were for sale at "www.originalgermanmilitaria.com". If one of the best German Militaria sites sells fakes, then it's fake.

            Jannis.
John T is an honest seller.
no one is doubting his SS sports shirt insignia.
but you post a sports shirt insignia
hap hazardly sewn onto a piece of fabric, and you call it a pennant.
and want to know where it was used.
            If it was me
id cut the patch off and keep it, and throw the rest away

I have doubts that it is original.

I'm relatively new to SS collecting and don't want to
the opinion of more experienced collectors like me doubt it.
But logically, we could with extremely rare runes
make pennants, logical only before RZM and not after 1945.
                  Has no sense.
Before I used the word "chain stiched" I read the topic "chain stitched pennants".
Maybe, I'm wrong, but int the topic "chain stitched pennants" are also called partial chain stiched insignes as chain stiched, that's the only reason why I have callet it as chain stiched,no more no less.
                  With all respect Jannis.

I found a similar one in the topic chain stitched pennants.
The rings, the fabric and the design are very similar.
                    I hope it helps.

I do not wish to present myself as an expert on pennants, but I will make these observations:

                      1. The roundels are machine woven. The circled areas are typical of direction changes during machine weaving, not of chain stitching.

                      2. The chain stitching on the red party pennant where the roundel is sewn to the pennant is quite common. I have several examples, and it appears to me that there is no other stitching attaching the roundel to the pennant. In this case, there is a separate line of straight black stitches attaching the round SS patch to pennant.

                      3. The rings are similar but normally the rings on the corners on pennants are solid, not split like key rings as in the case of the SS pennant.

                      4. I agree that John is one of the most honest dealers out there, and quite knowledgeable. However, I would point out that this pattern is not shown in Angolia’s SS Cloth book, nor in the SS chapter of Rob Newbrough’s massive 2 volume work on sport in the Third Reich. If they can be authenticated, this is a pair of 2 very rare SS insignia. Don’t be too hasty in chopping it apart. It can never be put back together exactly as it is.

Bottom line: I'm sitting squarely on the fence on this one.

                        Hello.
Thank you very much for your analytical comment, I really appreciate your opinion and will follow this.
I also believe that it is a rare piece, at least what concerns the runnen and will try to confirm the originality.
                        Thank you again, Jannis
