I like it. Signatures as you would find from the period. Mostly nice block lettering done with proper fountain pens, uneven thicknesses...etc. I love sitting down researching the names on items like this.

As far as being sad, no. These guys broke their balls and risked their lives for us to enjoy our freedom. This is an excellent piece of history. For me, more valuable than without the scribbles.

It's the Wittmann tax. Everything is high....but if he can get it, god bless him.

                Maximus,
Don’t forget that in your will you have to donate the flag to a museum
                ...or to Wittmann

If you live that long to pay it off . But I think Wittmann wont live that long. Cliff

the flag is of course legit, the "old" model design which is - imo - less appealing.

The first problem is that it is not worth more than 7k - max 10k usd...
The last big flag with the late war design was sold on Poulin for less than 2700 usd with fees (a bargain ! I stopped bidding because i had other stuff to buy).

And the second problem is that i love the "this flag should be in a museum"... yeah right, shame to the consignator...

For sure the flag will never sell at that price.

                      See You

                      Vince
Right on all points... including “the museum”..... I get what he is saying but the reality is very different... JP

What a price gouger it's only worth a fraction of his asking price. An excellent way to kill the hobby.
