In my July 1944 Waffen SS DAL for officers Hauptsturmfuhrer and above, I found 2 Singers.

Hauptsturmfuhrer Albert Singer, SS #110955
Hauptsturmfuhrer der Reserve Hans Singer, SS #105552

Unfortunately, their units are not listed.

Is it possible that there are two names, one painted on top of the other, after all whilst unit designations do not change, their commanders do.

i would suggest the term used in the division history shown above:

Iv. Abteilung ss-panzer-artillerie-regiment 1 "lssah"

and change to the correct tactical sign (also gave a pic)

Yes, I have noted that too, but the top name appears to be Singer or Sänger. Thank you for looking into the Dienstaltersliste. I am afraid without archive work we will not know it.

I checked through several resources, but could not locate a WSS officer with surname Sanger. As noted below, there were 2 Singers.
