Hi,Years ago some Goring car pennants were found in the trash in the Boston area by a antique dealer.I know the guy who bought them from the dealer.They were later sold to a famous thrid reich dealer.Im not sure if these are the same ones and what the story is.Jay Parisi
Sky blue silk with depictions in gold brocade, gold embroidered details and edging, the front featuring the Reichsmarschall eagle with the crossed marshal's batons, the back with the black and silver Iron Cross 1939 in a laurel wreath, the Luftwaffe eagle above the crossed marshal's batons in the corners. Three fastening rings at the top. Dimensions approx. 95 x 95 cm. Extremely rare standard, merely with slight traces of age, the colours still vibrant.This model of Göring's personal standard was introduced on his appointment to Reichsmarschall on 19 July 1940.The present standard was acquired in 1945 in Göring's train "Robinson", while in Berchtesgaden station, by Sergeant Meyer of the French army. Includes a letter written by Sergeant Meyer, outlining the circumstances in which the standard was found. Furthermore, various documents and newspaper cuttings dated 1969, referring to the exhibition of the standard at remembrance ceremonies held by the French army. Condition: II +
