Miners pennant finial?

I have this piece that I need help with, it looks like it could be a finial for a miners pennant or maybe a vehicle ornament. It is roughly 4-3/4" tall & 3-1/2" wide the socket is threaded and looks to be nickle over brass. I don't know if it is period , there are no maker marks on it... has anyone seen one like it anywhere? Thanks in advance for any help.

I’ve seen this style before, but I don’t think it is a miners pennant top. I have seen this design incorporated into walking sticks.

Thanks to everyone & I believe herd is more than likely correct as the examples he linked back to are really close matches to mine, I believe that mine is not a new piece but fairly old and the quality is really good... anyway it kinda reminds me of something from the Pink Floyd video (The Wall). Again thanks to everyone for the help.
