    Hand painted Imperial flag

I've got a rather large hand painted German Imperial flag. It's 5' x 4' in size. Don't have the faintest idea of it's usage. Anybody have an idea?

    Hello herrgeezer:
Looks to me like a model 1903 IKF as used by vets
up through the 1920's until the 3rd Reich era (1933).
As such worth IMO around $500 USD or so.

Thank you for that information, OFW.

I've had it for years but it has been in trunk and I just pulled it out today as I've been meaning to ask about this for a long time.

Interesting that it has grommets for hanging. That would be unusual for German made flag.

Would it be out of the realm of possibility that this flag was brought to, or made here in the U.S. as many WWI German veterans migrated here in those years? Perhaps that would explain the grommets for hanging in a hall or sorts? I have very little experience with flags in general.

That could well be the explanation.
