Luft eagle pole tops ...

I really like these Luft toppers both 1st & 2nd patterns, but I don't like them $7000.00 - $10,000.00 much! I have been hunting for either one in repro but no luck and I'm sure there are some repros selling as repros out there somewhere.

I had this one for some time. It looks like it was cut from the swastika.

Nice example. I guess the swastika is the weak point on these. I've seen some variations where they thickened this area up. See below pics showing the different thicknesses. Picture 1 being the thicker swastika, Picture 2 thin swastika.

... Here's the coolest one I've seen...
with the leather wing tip protectors.

tip protectors. Even rarer is the Luft weather
cover with metal shell that these wing protectors
keep same from scratching the top. The Heer top
also has a leather pole top tip protector, of which
I've only seen a couple examples of that survived
WW2. I've never seen a WW1 top cap protector.

Took me awhile to even find a photo of the Luft
battalion flag weather cover, but now here it is.

Thanks. Interesting, at least to me, that during
Imperial times the German unit flag cover was
seen worn as part of the traegers uniform. This
appears not to have been continued during the
3rd Reich era - photos of 3rd Reich unit flag cover
use prior to the trooping parade are thus rare.

The tops in Posts 1 and 6 are the same exact top. In Post 1 it's being shown by Eddie (25thlight) in his sales Thread, and in Post 6 it's being shown as listed on Brent Smith's site. The strange thing is that it is exactly the same hand holding it and the same top. Also, the burgundy bed spread is a common feature that's shown up in Brent's pics. The top is 100% original, but as stated by others, overpriced at either $7K and/or $10K. Seems a little strange to me
