Showing here a recently-acquired item with a lot of character: a well-worn national war ensign (Reichskriegsflagge), smoke-stained and frayed from the fly-end back. While not full length due to wear, obviously of the smaller 80x135 cm. size. There are faint, illegible traces of maker or other markings along the bunting. According to the story, this flag was "liberated" from a flagpole in Berlin at the end of the war. If only it could speak, what a tale it could tell! I hope that fellow forum members will enjoy seeing this relic.
