MG34/42 drum for review

I purchased this at a local show, and am not overly familiar with the markings on these. It does have a Waffenampt, along with an odd (at least to me) maker's mark and a series of numbers. I've deduced that the "39" is likely the year of manufacture, but beyond that I do not know. The is a marking on the opposite side of the drum that appears to be "double struck". It also appears to have been tan at one time, and over-sprayed black (Post war Yugo I would imagine).

This is not my area of expertise, so any information/opinions are most welcome!

It's a German WWII drum, repainted as you say. 39 is the year & the bird symbol in the circle is the company logo. Don't remember who it is though.
