I have a 1941 izhevsk Finn Capture for review. The seller is asking for $1,700. Everything is matching and looks like the stock hasn't been sanded. Please let me know what you guys think. I appreciate everyone's help!

I think, I see two rifles here. Top one seams to be typical refurbished one. Bottom one seems to be in original blueing, but refinished stock. Stock finish is not original soviet factory finish in my opinion. As a bonus that rifle has SVT38 magazine. That's all based on provided pictures.

Sorry for the confusion. The top pictures were mixed up with a refurb. Here are some more pictures of just the Finn capture. The bolt has no serial numbers but just a proof mark. Does this mean it can still match? Can anyone else confirm that the stock is not original? Thanks everyone for your help!Comment

Bolt and bolt carrier should be numbered. Stock should be numbered as well on the left side of the butt. Right side should have an Izhevsk logo if original to the rifle. Rifle is renumbered on the receiver, so it went through some sort of arsenal reassembly. Maybe numbers on bolt carrier and bolt were ground off?
It will be very hard to find original factory matching SVT40 that came from Finnland. The only chance for those are unmessed GI bringbacks. They are rare and at least in 4k range pricewise if you can find one.
Considering that refurbished ones sell for around $1200-$1400, 1700 for this one is not that bad for what it is. And you get it with SVT38 magazine.

It's too high for this condition, the stock has been heavily sanded, the rear sling swivel has been changed. For this much money you can find a much nicer Finn captured rifle, they are not rareComment
