    If you'd rather not telephone the GI, I would recommend sending a hand written letter. That way it's up to the vet whether or not he wants to reply, and, for most elderly vets I've encountered, letter correspondence is a normal way to communicate.

      The "small tool" is probably the loading tool. The hole in the tool fits over the button on the magazine and then the button can be pulled down to load/unload the magazine. The other end is a screwdriver, but I would use a standard screwdriver should you want to remove the stocks or remove the firing pin.

        Looks like one of the magazines has a wooden bottom. If I'm seeing that correctly that would be incorrect for a 1938 made P08.
