Has anyone seen such a tool before? Can't see any markings on it but there might be some beneath all the wear.

Nice bit of kit, I have a similar device for bren mags although that was for a single purpose of acting as a guide for the MK1 to Mk1* mods of fitting the auxiliary spring in the spine internally.

With the mushroomed end on yours I suspect the function was to reform the magazine lips if slightly damaged, to do so however you would need an external socket mandrel or "form" to drive into. Other wise you would just open the lips up.

Regardless of above a very nice bit of equipment that ive not seen before.
