    Rare MG accessory

Here is my latest arrival, for those who collect MG items.

It is not the first I have, but the second. See pics of my first also...It was OK when it came in an MG13 E kasten...but seems time and chemical reactions have degraded the plastic/celluloid or whatever it is made of:

    Nice grab Carles,

Mine are in the same condition as your first pair, big split across the lens frame.

Nice find with no damages I can see. How is the strap?

Mine is very degraded and not worthy of the name "elastic"

    Regards

      Hello Tim,

I haven't tried the elasticity...just in case... They look good, at least. I have put them into little plastic bags, so they don't touch the nickelwash of the cases. I guess that might have produced the degradation, as you can see in the last pic.

        Hello Gentlemen!

I have the one below - I don't know if its related to MG.. The material is some kind of synthetic leather (?). Shows similarities to the one which was shown by Carles.

Is it always issued with elastic band? This is what I have got. Unfortunately one arm is loose.

Please correct me if I am wrong guys, but I was under the impression that the Sun glasses shown by PZO were more akin to the general issue tropical climate type of thing, especially with the dust shields to the side.

I have an almost matching pair but they are steel frame throughout and british marked, yours are distinctive tortoise shell effect typical of german manufacture.

They would of course be adequate for the job for an MG Gunner and probably less prone to movement as they have sprung arms.

            Any glasses experts out their??

            Regards

            Tim

Honestly, I cannot imagine that there was issued an extra toned MG-Brille.
