Ok, I decided to post a thread on this, since I have been getting a lot of emails from people asking me what their gun is worth?
First off, I don't mind giving out my personal opinion of value, but please remeber it is just that, "my opinion". You may be able to get more for your gun from someone else? or less? I can only tell you what I feel the gun is worth, right now.
Second, if you really want an accurate estimate, please send pics, and as much information as possible!
Don't just email me and say, "hey I got a nazi marked K98. What is it worth?"
I swear I had a guy write me a letter just like that! My response was "anywhere between $50-$50,000."
Please include some of the following information:
1. Serial Number, very important! especially if your gun does not have a date marking!
2. Year (if marked as such)
3. Maker code, or banner (almost every nazi gun will have this, unless it is a very late war, ie. "last ditch" )
4. military proof markings (such as "eagle135" or police markings such as "eagle F" or commercial marks such as "eagle N". or any import markings.
5. Finish % (how much finish is intact! this is very important!)
6. Condition of bore.
7. conditon of wood (or plastic grips, or stock).
8. Holster, if applicable, please include year, maker code, color, type, and condition.
9. Pictures of everything!
If you include good information like this, I'm sure I can give you a good estimate. However, I am not totally familiar with every type of firearm, so please understand.
Thanks!
Matt
