    Thanks

Bill - Nice photo, good little doggie.

Is there anything that you want that you don't already have?

    Your collection is amazing.

Pending the arrival of "Backbone Of The Whermacht" which I have ordered, I have two questions. (Please remember that my knowledge of the subject is limited at this point).

Is the sling on the K98k simply provided as a means of carrying the piece over the shoulder,or is it also an aid in marksmanship as is the sling on our military rifles?

In stocks I see photos of both solid wood, probably European walnut I would think, and also laminated wood that appears to be a species of European beech or birch. Which species is it, and at this point 50+ years after the fact is seperation of the laminates a concern?

Rich, The sling was used for carrying the rifle and I am sure for steadying the aim, as for wood Walnut, laminated beech and other european woods...BILL
