    Beautiful 1943 Remington

I have a WW2 1943 Remington 03-A3 for review. Please let me know what you think! I really appreciate everyone's opinion.

Appears to be original, and went through Ogden Arsenal at some time and received the OGEK mark. Doesn't mean that anything was done; just that it went through the facility.

The barrel, receiver, and safety should be phosphate (Parkerized), with all other parts being blued.

      My slightly earlier original Remington.

Stock has been oiled or something (looking at the wrong 03). The first one looks fine, must be a late 43. Many of these came out of the DCM back in the day.

The early Remington 03-A3 stocks did not have the RA on them, but can be told from the Smith-Corona stocks by the square cut on the front lower band spring cut, and the Remington has a 7/16" circle on the P proof where the S-C had a 1/2" circle.

The Remington buttplate (stamped) was 1/16" checkered where the Smith-Corona was 3/16".

            Very nice 03-A3, entirely correct.

I don't know which one you are talking about either, but the one I show came through the DCM, and other than cleaning up the grease is original.

Very nice indeed! Very sharp. Might have to replace the ones I had decades ago.
