    Short Barrel P38 For Review

I have a short barrel p38 for review. Are the "short barrel" p38s more on the rare side? Please let me know if it looks authentic.

There are no real factory made WWII German short barreled P.38's.

I recall seeing these occasionally at shows in the 60s.
Some were well done. Some just had bobbed barrels and a sight mounted on the slide.
They were never considered to be an original item.
I think some whimsically offered them as "Gestapo" issue.

Obviously a relic from the days when P.38s were easily available at practically every show, and cheap. Otherwise, it pains me to see an otherwise great pistol desecrated.

They seem to always show up with CYQ on the slides made by Spreewerk. No evidence exists that they came from the Factory that way.

I had one a long time ago that was an AC43. Found an armorers un-numbered replacement barrel for it.
