Woodwork find vz24 German used

I picked up this rifle last week out of woodwork. It had inch of dust on it. I never had one that was redone by the Germans before. It is all matching with no import marks. German changes to this gun was addition of take down disk, removal of side swivels (they filled the holes with wooden plug) and bolt is in blue. From the research I did this was what was done with vz24 Mauser before Germans start making there own versions of vz24. Just wanted to share interesting example.

Very nice rifle and nice find!

I have the almost exact rifle, found in a farmers barn near Arnhem if i remember correctly. Only mine has a K98 bolt in there.

I agree it is very nice and very seldom seen. I doubt that most German rifle collectors would even recognize it for what it is.
I’m curious if there are any WaA stamps in the stock especially underside of the wrist area. A side observation is that I have seen several examples, and own one, of these captured re-configured rifles with this same finish on the stock. The few I have seen were direct vet or vet widow acquired and untouched since the war. It is sort of a dull, dark varnish but thin enough to feel the wood grain. Difficult to properly describe but once you see it in person you remember it.

I checked I did not find any stamps around wrist area. I have Polish radom Mauser and French lebel carbine with that stamp.
I will try to pull them out and post pictures of them also.

Nice czechoslovak Rifle Vz.24 reworked by germans, possible the bolt was force matched as there is V1 range, the stamps on wood or butt disc could be have Depot proof, otherway similar rifles are mostly unmarked. b.r.Andy

You may be right about the bolt. I am not a fan of term “forced match” although I realize it has became the default term for renumbered parts since in internet age.
