    New MP44 bnz 1944

Hello all, I finally got one...original MP44 made by bnz Steyr. Wanted one for decades. Modified into Semi auto only. This is what it was like when I got it, horrible
Russian post war made wood stock which was damaged. Cracked mounting holes. Stock wobbled in socket.

Thanks to stg44.eu I got a new old stock, stock for it:

Had to be sanded down to fit into the stock socket. Nice laminated wood.

Tried to match colour of the wood with staining. Came out good. Not sure
if originally they were just oil covered.

      Old stock vs the new:

Happy with the end result. Have original trigger assy grips on the way, in great condition.

What on earth makes you think that is a post war stock? If you want to get rid of it, send it to me.

                Old stock vs the new:

I think it was exactly what they did. New stocks were "painted" with mixture of line seed oil and turpentine. Just oil covered...

I was told by Claus Espeholt that its is not original. I will keep it with the rifle, part of the Russian capture & rework history behind it. It is unserviceable, long crack into lower recoil spring hole. Receiver has a triangle stamp with "1" under serial number, indicating reworked at Moscow Liski 1871st ABV.

Petroleum 1: the selector switch is modified stuck in semi. Don't think ATF would approve, but legal here in this condition. And I will not mess with it.

One problem, bolt latch spring is broken. Does anyone here have a spare one?
Or anyone in Europe with egun.de account? There are 2 on egun now, but for some reason I cant open an account and my friends account is closed.

With all the incorrect data on his site... do you want to go with that opinion?

                            Leper,

I did not know there is incorrect info on his site. But regardless, even if this stock is original or not, it was unusable, wobbling in the stock socket, had to be replaced. Not smart to shoot this rifle like it was.
