Russian m44 bringback grouping of force recon marine

I picked up this grouping from a retired force recon marine. He picked up this m44 from Grenada. It is not import marked with a good bore. Just very cool grouping, with his combat Randall with his name on it. He said he had it made for himself. I never saw the bring back from this operation before.
    Thank you
    regards RD

Neat. I figured they'd already stopped firearm bring backs by Grenada.

The only other bring-backs from Grenada that I am aware of is an M16 mag that a friend of mine has; the mag came from one of his army buddies who participated in the invasion. Specifically, the M16 mag was picked up by a regular U.S. Army guy at the Point Salines airport, where U.S. Army Rangers had landed a few days earlier and got into a big firefight to secure the airfield. The mags had been used in this combat; dropped onto the tarmack as they were emptied in the firefight. The regular Army guy decided the mags were of interest, so he picked up a couple and later passed one onto my buddy. Below is a link to some information about the Port Salines airport battle that the M16 mags came from:

I do remember there was a problem with some Army brass returning from a post-invasion inspection trip to Grenada; they came home in a military aircraft with a bunch of AK-47's as personal war trophies for the officers. Of course, such conduct was in violation of various U.S. import laws as well as constituted possession of unregistered NFA items.

Also, I recall a tidbit on the news about how two (2) captured Soviet anti-tank cannons were being presented by Army officials to President Ronald Regan (who was going to put them on display at his ranch in California). Perhaps someone knows what became of these war-trophy presentation cannon?

              Alan,
Probably being that this guy was one of the first ones in that helps. Also I heard from few guys who did black ops stuff they are able to do more stuff then your normal soldier
They also told me they do not get checked after this type of operations.
              Regards RD
