    Luger luger luger hehe

    Hi again!
Just wanted to show you guys a piece I added to my collection last summer, just had to have a Luger hehe (of course)
Anyway, since I dont know too much about them, would anyone here care to bless me with their wisdom and maybe bring some light to which model this is etc and any nifty info you might hold Id appreciate it alot hehe.

    So here goes! enjoy

Ps: Maybe the pics are a bit too big for some, but personly big ones are the only thing that works when your looking at collectables.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Very Nice looking weapon

But.......... do yourself one favour, and get a nice P08 holster... It makes the Luger ... well.... more valuable in a way

    But for the weapon

Well from what I see it looks like a standard Mauser made P.08 from 1940. There were 135,700 made that year starting with the Z block and ending in the 7000 N. This year was the highest production for the P.08 in WWII. I noticed an unusual weld on the locking bolt? Is this gun deactivated? If you can get the side plate off you will find a 2 digit number. This number should be one digit higher than the first two of the serial number. In your case the #12, this would mean the side plate is original. I agree with Tom dump the holster.

The holster appears to be a typical example of the modified German holsters pressed into service by the Norwegian Army after WWII. You might want to know that the pull up strap should be pushed down inside the holster before the pistol is put into the holster. Its purpose is to help lift the pistol out when it is needed. Your photo indicates that you have arranged the strap above the pistol.
