    Unusual Ammo Case - MG34?

Can anyone identify what this is? From the distance, it looks like an MG34 ammo case, however, upon closer examination, it really unusual. It is made of steel and is clearly marked 1941. Looks like it holds 7.92 belted rounds... Any insights would be appreciated

Side view closed. Is this thing rare, common or just a fantasy post war item?

Looks good to me. It's a Patronen Kasten 41. It had a rubber seal in the lid, unlike its predecesor.

Not particularly rare. Yours appears to have the original paint though and that is a bit uncommon.

Looks like a perfectly good MG belt box!

Hi i think Patr.Kast.41 f.MG. means Patronenkaste model 42 fur Machinengaweher or "ammo/round box/holder model 41 for machene gun" its not a machine gun f.MG it means for MG
              hope this helps Adam
