The GP35 in german service is a relatively common peice. Many were made and issued out - primarily to the HEER. The one you picture looks to be about a $375 - $450 item. An original spare magazine would add $50 to $75 , and a holster possibly $150 to $200 depending on the condition of it. I have seen very very nice GP35 rigs sell for $650 to $725 as recently as the last SOS/NGD shows.

I saw one a little bit better than yours without the WaA140s on the slide and receiver go for over $900 last week.

What about price of a WaA140+103 marked piece in similar condition? Worth more or less?

I read that the Browning was a favorite of the waffen SS, they liked the 13 round capacity...

Not to split hairs, but I have seen alomost no photographic evidence of the Heer using these. On the other hand they can very often been seen in photos of W-SS troops. I would have have to say that next to the Luger the W-SS carried more HPs than any other single 9mm...at least based on thousands of photos that I have examined. The Luftwaffe also used a fair number to these as well and most of the documented ones of Luftwaffe use that I know of are pre-war captured and early production with the long rear sight.

There were about 350,000 HPs believed to have been procurred by the Germans and that would mean that there were three times as many P38s used or Lugers used as HPs.

                        Thats correct !!

-1) Luftwaffe (most of them FJ)
                        -2) Waffen ss and Polizei
-3) Kriegsmarine (with the bakelite handgrips)

                        Regards, David.
