    Volksturmgewehr

    Hello collectors,

I was offered 2 VG's of the simplified K98 type.
They are both made in 45 by BNZ and have the 7,92x57 caliber.
The condition is good to very good.
What's the current european price for these?

    regards,

    FRANK

that doesent sound like a volksturmgewehr as they are like a mp44 an assult rifle like look it sounds more like a k98 krigs model or the very late ones have a shoter stock the barrel was sometimes just a worn out MG42 barrel and only took 1 round at a time but there are a lot of these last dich veriants
if its just a late war K98 it will have all the same as a war time one just the barrel bands are screw in and stamped metal parts
can you tell us which one it sounds like and maby we could give some more help is it live or deact?

He is likely referring to the VK98. And 1944 dated 98k's with MG barrels utilized MG13 barrels - not M42 or 34 , nor were they worn out or previously used.Oh and these MG barreled 98k's were full trim 98k's and not Kreigsmodells.
The VK98's are found usually in a slab like beech stock with no buttplate, crude wire bail swivel on the left front of "forend" of the sporter like stock. Barrel is counterbored and front sight is a blade simply welded onto the barrel. the rear sight is a wedged V notched "block" dovetailed into the receiver top. All the ones I have seen and owned were bnz45's and blued. There likely are some phosphate finished examples, I just have not seen any in person.
Note - these are heavily faked so buyer beware !!!!!!!!!!!!. They tend to easily fetch $2500 and up if matching and unboogered with.

No problem Adam, remember the MP43/44 series of assault rifles were in 7.92x33mm also known as 7.92 Kurz ... There was a VG1-5 in Kurz Calibre which used a MP43 magazine and was semi auto... This is more than kikely what you were thinking of....BILL

              European price!

I have only seen one for sale and was about 4.000 €,but if you don't know the dealer don't buy it there are many fakes in the market.

K98 The one you might refer to that a european dealer has for sale for 4000 Euros is a genuine bnz45 .I know it as it was mine. Hope that helps.
