      I can not accurately judge the originality of the blue from these photos. If reblued the polish was well done IMO.

      The extractor finish is 100% correct and unique for this era of salt blue. The red/purple hue is exactly what one mostly sees on 1938 Mauser 08s.

                    Sorry, I confused the extractor with the ejector. The ejector should be blued. I believe the gun has been reblued.

                      Well, I didn't want to be the first one to say it looked reblued, but it does. Maybe pictures, but appears over buffed in some areas. Extractor may be plum, but that one is too plum and appears pitted. That much original blue should at least have some paint in Gesichert.

                            Definitely refinished, evident from the better photos. Matching mag or not, it's a shooter. Key in 1938 or 1939 Luger on GunBroker. You will see a couple of Lugers with original finish in almost mint state. Typical prices for 98-99% original finish with matching mag are in the neighborhood of 2500. Two matching mags will generally fetch a grand or more.

                              I also agree that it is a reblue. Small parts like trigger, safety. takedown, mag release and ejector should be in light whitish straw blue for those early years.

                                Mauser discontinued rust blue and strawed small parts in mid 1937.
