****.. how am I gonna fix this??? (MP38)

Needless to say, I screwd up bad.. or well my damn cousin did..

Anyway, im over that, now to the real problem!
The loading handle thingy on my MP38, the little piece on the handle, has fallen off!
I dont think its totaly broke, but I cant get the pieces back together!

Anyone know a way to fix this, or do I have to turn it in to proffecionals?

You can fix this BUT you are missing the little metal bearing that is part of this handle. Once you put it together you will need to just slightly flatten both ends of the pin... Many of us have had to do this!

He should replace the long pin and it is pretty easy to find the proper size of bearing(I got my replacement at a transmission shop, they didn't even charge me for it once they knew what I was doing!), then put it back together the proper way.

Is the gun all matching? Does the serial number of the bolt match the remainder of the gun? If not, I'd find one of the hook handle bolts and put it on the gun. These were unique to many of the MP38s and I think really adds to the gun.

Well, in my opinion that would be "two steps forward-one step back". The receiver wall has been cut to allow the safety to lock the bolt in the forward position. If you replace the bolt with the bent handle type, you must also weld the cut-out and reblue the area..... Once rebuilt like this I think it looks better if it's stays that way! Just my 2 øre!

A ball bearing - a small steel ball.
