    Nazi Hipowers

Can anyone tell me if the letter code on a third variant Nazi Hipower is supposed to be in cursive or block letters.

I have a cursive "b" one but have seen pictures on the net of block letter "B"s. I have also seen a cursive "a" pistol which I though was fake because of the lack of waffen markings.

Can you point me out to any place where I can read up on this subject.

      Letter serial number

This is from another web site:

"Your pistol is the third variation, these were stamped with eagle over WaA140, had fixed 50-meter sights, wood or brown plastic grips and dull military-blue finish over rough machine marks. The approximate serial range for this variation is 145000 to 210000, then 01a to 100000a and finally 01b to 63000b."

If your pistol is a third variation - (1st and 2nd had tangent rear sights) it may be in the unlettered serial number range. I am no expert.

I just got the feeling that I might own another humped weapon.

Does anyone know if the lettering is cursive or block style?

        Hey Roger,

Any chance of a picture? As we say a picture really is worth a thousand words.

          Not allowed to post pics

I have tried to post a pic in the Radom thread but never got the bottom of the screen controls to do so. It just said "You may not post attachments".

I just assume I'm too new to this board to post pics. I did try to follow the instructions to posting pics in the Wehrmacht-Awards.com Militaria Forums
area. Maybe I'm just too stupid.

Roger, email the picture to me and I'll host it for you. That way you can post it as a hotlink.

              My "b" number variant

I sent a pic of the serial number of my Hipo to you. While I did, I looked at the Hipo you have on your site. It is a cursive "a" type, I think.

              Thanks.
