were all mp40 mag wells numbered?

my mp40 slab side mag well is not numbered......it has been sanded down a bit but i would think it would need crazy amounts of sanding to remove the stamp

i had a kit with a ribbed mag well which i know is original finish...same thing--no number stamp....i think it had a waffen though

only marking on my mag well is a number 2 inside the well

with every other part of the gun numbered i found it odd to have (2) of them not numbered.....

Short answer: NO, they were not. Most were unnumbered. Numbering ceased sometime mid 1941 - so for three of the five years of production they were not numbered.
