    My first P.38

    Dears,

    I want to share my first P.38 with you.

    It's nice Spreewerk made P.38 (cyq). s/n 1912a and correct eagle/88 stamping.
    Also 2 asterix can be found. Magazine is stamped eagle/88 on the spine, no s/n.

    Grips are early brown/black bakelite Walther/Mauser types with the 1528 and 1529 mold numbers and eagle/359 on one of them.

    Pictures don't do the gun justice but it looks very nice

              You've got a real nice pistol there!!! Be very careful tho, and don't leave it alone in a dark place for very long. ---- They tend to multiply spontaneously. Very addictive, those P 38's!!!

                    Kris! I am collecting a internal marking data. On the right barrel frame you can found so called "B code". My tip is B 12. In a suffix range are some pistols marked under the left grip (ULG) with number. In my opinion is your pistol without ULG number. Let me know, please...!

                      No problem.
                      You're almost correct. It's B 11. And indeed no ULG mark.
                      Any info on the B 11 mark or other nice to know info about this P.38 ?
                      I believe it's a quite early one from the Spreewerk production, no ?

                          B 11 is forging batch number. Testfired and proofed early February 1943. Made (like all the Speewerk P.38 pistols) in Hradek nad Nisou, Czech Republic. I like cyq & cvq pistols because I am familiar with lot of former Spreewerk workers - forced labors.

                              Interesting. So have you found a way to date a Spreewerke without using the serial through this B code? That's completely unknown to me. Very very cool if you could outline the basics for me. I always thought it was very difficult to date Spreewerke pistols.
