MP44 magazine pouch strap tip question

I have seen pics of the ones you have posted and also the early single flap pouches with square tipped straps. Those other 2 look like MP40 pouches. At the end of the war they were using old mail bags for material to make them.

After fees I heard the lot went to close to 18k...not much meat left on the bone at that price IMO. The report I heard most things at the auction went for very high prices

Buyers premium as 23% and it sold for 17K USD, so do the math. Most people bidding knew what was in there and bid to win, and I agree the prices went higher than what you hope to find at auction. Some relatively common stuff went higher than retail, and the Civil War items brought crazy prices.

That's OK though - plenty of other sleeper items out there, and the hunt is half the fun. This is just good reassurance the stuff is still surfacing and resurfacing for sale.

The best approach to auctions if some items interest you is to go to the preview and inspect the items. With auctions of MGs I make the trip if there are some offered of interest and it pays off dramatically knowing exactly what is in th line up. I have no doubt that the winner of these items inspected them prior to bidding and saw the value. Clearly he had some competition to get to hammer price to $17k.

I was the other bidder who was competing for it and was at the auction. The winner was off the internet and not in the room. Unfortunately I had to back out at a certain price.
