    Luger marked with crossed swords?

    Hello!
Someone had a Luger for sale. with strange markings.
It was marked with BYS (not byf) 1941 and with 2 crossed swords . Below that swords you could read 003.
Ofcourse you can also read "gesichert" and its numbers.

    Does anyone reconise the swords?

Does anyone have an idea what for a Luger it is , or does anyone reconise the marking? There where no eagles or anything.

    Thanks!
    Frank

Are you positive it's two crossed swords...almost sounds like the crude russian crossed rifles stamp they applied to captured and reissued arms - usually refurbished by them.
It may be an east german VOPO marking ?. I suggest going to gunboards.com and looking up Jan Stills Luger forum and asking there - if anyone knows the answer it WILL be there.
